Knuckle Bones Tavern Game or aka Pirate Dibbs

Product Description

One of the oldest games still played.  As the title of the game suggests, it was once played with actual bones. The playing pieces were Knucklebones from mutton (sheep) legs. The Ancient Greeks called them "Astragaloi." They could be used both in gambling games like dice and for telling the future.  Knucklebones is also the ancestor of the modern game of Jacks but without the ball.  This same game was known to Pirates as “Dibbs”.   The object of the game is to complete different Figures by tossing, catching, and picking up "Knucklebones" in different ways.  You don't need real Knucklebones to play this game as it can be played with the 5 included Bone Dice that look similar to knucklebones.  Comes with instructions and the dice in a cute 5" x 7" bag.
