Product Description

"...during his Campaigns in America, the West Indies, and India."

From Wikipedia: (...)The Life and Services of General Lord Harris, G. C. B. was a biography of George Harris, 1st Baron Harris, his father-in-law by his second marriage.

1840 by John W. Parker. First Edition. Good condition. Original cloth cover stamped in blind and gilt. Boards have been rebacked, have some shelf wear/bending at corners. Spine is quite sunned. Pages, however, are in excellent condition, especially considering age. Includes some fine engraved plates and folding information on the Battle of Mallavelly.

A very interesting biography from an intimate point-of-view; includes details on his education, military career, travel, and love affairs. Front page inscribed: " To ??? (illegible), with the affectionate remembrances of the author. 24 March, 1843."
