Celtic Poison Ring

Product Description

Often known as locket rings, hope rings, vessel rings or pillbox rings, these rings were used to hold relics of saints. That would generally consist of pieces of bone, hair, teeth and was thought that these items would protect the wearer. Eventually these rings were used to keep poison in them generally by people who wanted to avoid the Hempen Halter. An Italian Noblewoman, Lucrezia Borgia, was well known for using a hollowed ring to poison her political rivals. Today, poison rings are still in fashion for the more goth and alternative wearers. Myth and truth have been put into these rings which could be why the mystery of them still have hold of our minds. With these you can outlive your Victorian fantasies or just use them as a lovely statement piece for your next eccentric outfit, they're fantastic conversations starters! We do, however, strongly recommend not using them for actual poison.

The Celtic knot has many meanings. This one in particular would be called a Dara Knot. The Dara Knot has been depicted in many different ways but is meant to symbolize and oak tree's root system. This knot is said to represent personal and spiritual growth.
